Uptime Institute Insights Newsletter
Welcome to the June 2026 Edition

Artificial intelligence is placing new and significant demands on digital infrastructure. Organizations deploying AI workloads are facing unprecedented requirements for power density, cooling architectures, rigorous commissioning, and operational readiness, often under compressed timelines and with limited margins for error.

To support informed and confident decision-making in this environment, Uptime Intelligence has released an “AI in Practice Series” associated with Uptime’s AI Infrastructure Advisory. Designed to provide greater insight into available offerings and services, this series draws on the expertise of Uptime’s global technical consultancy teams and our experience assessing hundreds of megawatts of digital infrastructure.

AI Infrastructure Advisory

Uptime’s AI Infrastructure Advisory provides independent, vendor-neutral expertise to support critical AI infrastructure decisions. The service delivers guidance across design development and review, technical vendor requirements and evaluation, construction oversight and validation, Level 4 and 5 commissioning, and operations and management strategy.

These advisory services are designed to help organizations reduce execution risk, avoid costly redesigns, and make informed, timely decisions when deploying or adapting infrastructure for high-density AI workloads. Design, technology, commissioning, and operations are increasingly interdependent, and siloed expertise can lead to inconsistent outcomes. An integrated advisory approach helps organizations align these decisions early, improving execution and supporting long-term operational resilience.

Outage prevention remains a central focus for data center operators as demand growth, AI-driven workloads and power constraints reshape risk profiles. Despite — and because of — advances in design and operations, operators are grappling with increasing system complexity, grid instability, growing co-dependencies and evolving external threats.

This 9-page executive summary is an excerpt of a much more detailed 29-page report available to Uptime Network and Uptime Intelligence customers.

Join Our Upcoming Webinar: Ensuring Operational Readiness for Demands of AI Workloads

In this webinar we will outline how to build a robust operations and management strategy for AI data centers in a time where extreme power densities, liquid cooling complexity, and rapid hardware refresh cycles demand a fundamentally different approach to operations. We will highlight the need to align operations with business goals from day one, while defining clear staffing models, training programs, and IT–facilities responsibilities to reduce risk and ensure reliability. Drawing on Uptime Institute’s global experience, extensive certifications, and vendor-neutral advisory expertise, this session demonstrates how proven frameworks, standardized procedures, and independent guidance help organizations deliver resilient, efficient AI infrastructure at scale.
