The intent of the PTSA Senior Scholarship program is to recognize Thomas Edison High School senior students who have demonstrated good citizenship through volunteer service in the school and community, and/or academic achievement through their time at the school. The scholarship is intended to support the continuation of their education after Edison.
This year we received 21 applications from students who shared about their academic journeys and achievements and their hours of volunteer service offered within the school and in the community. Out of all our great applicants, we are pleased to announce that the winners of the 2026 PTSA Senior Scholarships are:
Gabriela Thomas and Kate Ruthkosky.
Gabriela is headed to Northeastern University to study Cellular and Molecular Biology (pre-med). Gabriela wrote that leadership “has been about creating environments where others feel… capable of making an impact.”
Kate is going to the University of Virginia to study Chemistry. Kate wrote about her aspiration “to design molecules that are not only effective in the lab but also accessible…”
Congratulations to Gabriela and Kate! We wish you the very best in your future endeavors.
