Dear Belle View Families,

It was a busy and exciting week here at Belle View!

We kicked things off with the 3rd-grade Olympics. Our third graders have been studying ancient civilizations, and this event was a fantastic way to culminate their year of learning. Students had a blast using pool noodles as javelins and trying their hand at the shot put and frisbee toss.

We are wrapping up the week by celebrating our graduating West Potomac High School seniors—who previously attended Belle View—with our annual "Grad Clap Out." Our current students and teachers lined the hallways to cheer and congratulate our alumni as they walked down to the cafeteria. It is a wonderful tradition that inspires our younger students, who will one day have the opportunity to return and experience it for themselves!

This week, we also wrapped up all of our end-of-year SOLs and assessments. Parents will be able to access SOL scores and other official reports in ParentVUE this week.

We have so much to celebrate at Belle View this year! Here are just a few incredible highlights:

-15 Multilingual Learners successfully tested out of our ESOL program, which will open up elective options in middle school and allow for more time in class with their peers.

-00% of our 7th-grade advanced math students passed their math SOL.

-Our students with disabilities, economically disadvantaged students, and multilingual learners all showed significant growth on their reading SOLs compared to last year.

-Students taking the WIDA assessment achieved 64% mastery, up from 47% last year!

Have a wonderful weekend, and I will look forward to seeing you around the View!
