I looked into the raised bed options you asked about and cedar is definitely the way to go for durability. The soil test results came back showing we need to amend with some compost and a bit of lime to balance the pH. I think we should order the lumber this week so it has time to acclimate before we start building. The plan I sketched out has four beds with adequate spacing between them for easy access. Let me know if you want to adjust any dimensions before we commit to the materials order.

The response to the book swap idea has been better than I expected. Already fifteen people have signed up to participate and several have offered to help with setup and organization. I reserved the community room for the second Saturday of next month. We will need tables for display and a separate area for drop-offs. I think categorizing by genre will make it easier for people to browse. Let me know if you have thoughts on how to handle leftover books after the event.
