The trail wound through a grove of older trees and opened up to a small meadow with wild grasses and patches of clover. There was a creek running along the edge that I could barely hear until I stopped walking. I sat there for maybe an hour just watching the light shift through the clouds and listening to the water. A couple of deer came out near the far side and didn't seem to mind me at all.
