I’m really glad you asked about that camping spot on the lake. We reserved it three weeks ago and honestly it was better than expected. The water was crystal clear and the fire pit was right by the shore. We spent the whole first afternoon just swimming and reading. The kids found a small trail that looped around the far side and we saw deer tracks in the mud. At night the stars were incredible because there’s zero light pollution out there. We brought way too much food but that’s better than not enough. The only downside was the mosquitoes at dusk but we had spray so it was fine. I’d definitely go back in early fall when the leaves change. Did you end up booking that place you mentioned in your last message? We should plan a weekend together before summer ends. Let me know what dates work for you.

I had a great chat with my cousin this morning about the new documentary series on streaming. She said it’s three episodes long and each one focuses on a different urban garden project around the world. I watched the first one last night and the cinematography is stunning. They interviewed a woman in Brooklyn who turned a vacant lot into a thriving vegetable patch and now supplies a local restaurant. It made me want to start a little herb garden on our balcony. We already have basil and mint but I think we could add rosemary and maybe even cherry tomatoes. The second episode is set in Tokyo and shows how people grow food on rooftops. I’m thinking of binge-watching the rest this weekend. If you haven’t seen it yet I highly recommend it. Let me know if you want to watch it together sometime.
