Hey, just got back from the hike we talked about. The trail was absolutely gorgeous this time of year. We started early around 7 AM to beat the heat, and I'm so glad we did. The view from the summit was completely clear, you could see for miles. We packed a simple lunch but honestly, it tasted amazing after the climb. I think you would have really enjoyed the rocky scramble near the top. It wasn't too technical, just enough to get the heart pumping. Let me know if you want to check out that trail next weekend. I'm free all day Saturday and Sunday. We could even make it a full day trip and explore the nearby lake they told us about. Anyway, just wanted to share the good experience. Talk later!
Oh, and I finally started reading that book you lent me last month. It took a while to get into the first chapter, but now I'm hooked. The character development is surprisingly deep for a genre novel. I'm already halfway through.

Thanks for the suggestion on the playlist for the road trip. It made the 6-hour drive feel like a breeze. My kid especially loved the track with the whistling, we played it at least three times in a row. We stopped at that quirky diner you mentioned, the one with the neon sign. The milkshakes were as good as advertised! We split a chocolate and a strawberry one. The rest of the trip was pretty smooth, hardly any traffic. Visiting the museum was a highlight, they had an incredible exhibit on ancient civilizations. The pottery collection was fascinating. I took some photos I'll share with you. Hope your week is going well. Let's catch up properly soon. Maybe we can plan something for the long weekend coming up. I'll check my schedule and send you some dates.
