Kevin Jay Margeson

Kevin Jay Margeson

Kevin Jay Margeson, age 73, passed away May 27, 2026, at Holy Family Medical Center in Des Plaines, IL, where he had been fighting a critical illness for the last few weeks. Kevin (the cutest baby there ever was, according to himself) was born in Lake Forest IL, on July 4, 1952 to Kenneth and Patricia Margeson. Attending Highland Park High School, he participated in football and track. He had a happy childhood with his siblings, Susan, Mike, and Julie. He married Jaye Barlow in 1975 and they recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Kevin was an amazing father to Neil and Jenna in Gurnee, IL. He was always active as Cub Scout Den Leader and Warren Township Football Coach. Involved Grandfather to Ava, Parker, and Vince, founding "Grandpa's Day Care." He was a dedicated employee to the US Post Office for over 35 years. He had a huge love for the Green Bay Packers. As an owner with gold tickets, he attended countless games at Lambeau. Kevin had a passion for music, playing guitar and singing with his friends at open mics. He loved spending time in the family home in Minocqua, Wisconsin. He enjoyed golfing and fishing, especially with his best friend Bob Lindstrom. Declared "Mayor of the Cul-de-sac" he was a friendly and fun neighbor. Truly the life of the party. He is survived by his wife, Jaye; daughter, Jenna (Dan) Madia; daughter-in-law, Amy; grandchildren, Ava, Parker, and Vince. Siblings, Susan (Phil) Kline, Michael Margeson, and Julie (Ray) Moore. Brother-in-law, Buz (Karen) Barlow. Kevin was predeceased by his parents, Kenneth and Patricia; and his beloved, son Neil. A Celebration of Life (or as Kevin wanted, a FUNeral) will be held at the Margeson Residence on Saturday June 13, 2026. Open house from 2p-11p. Packers Gear encouraged.
