So I finally decided to try my hand at making sourdough from scratch. I started the starter a couple of weeks ago, and it's actually bubbling nicely. I've been feeding it every day, and it smells pretty tangy. I attempted my first loaf yesterday. The shaping was a mess, and it stuck to the proofing basket. I baked it anyway, and while it's a bit flat, the crust is amazing and the inside is surprisingly airy. I'm really proud of my little science experiment. It tasted great with just butter. I think I'll try a whole wheat version next time. My kitchen is covered in flour, but it was worth it.

I was going through some old boxes from my parents' attic and found my collection of concert tickets from high school. There were stubs from shows I had completely forgotten about. A local band I used to follow around, an alternative festival from 2005, and even a ticket to see an orchestra at a fancy hall. It was such a trip down memory lane. I spent an hour just looking at them and remembering the friends I went with, the clothes we wore, and how loud the music was. I think I'll frame a few of them. It's nice to hold onto those tangible pieces of the past.
