Regarding the trail conditions for next Saturday — I think we should go with the Cedar Ridge loop instead of the Summit trail. I talked to the ranger this morning and she said the upper section is still pretty muddy from last week's rain. The lower loop is dry and the wildflowers are starting to bloom, so it'd be a nice walk. We could meet at the main parking lot around 7:30, that way we beat the heat and the crowds. I'll bring extra snacks and my compact binoculars for bird watching. If you want to bring your friend, that's fine, just let me know so I can plan the route length. Also, I'd recommend good hiking shoes because there are a few rocky patches. Let me know if you'd prefer a different time.

I think the community garden layout we discussed last week works well, but we need to adjust the soil preparation timeline. The compost delivery is scheduled for Monday, so I'd suggest we do the initial tilling on Wednesday evening if the weather holds. Also, the seed order came in earlier than expected—peas and lettuce can go in the ground this weekend if we have the beds ready. For the tomatoes, we should wait until the overnight temperatures stay above 50 degrees. Could you confirm if the city permit allows raised beds or only in-ground planting? I'll bring the extra trellis materials we talked about. By the way, if anyone wants to join the Saturday workday, please ask them to bring their own gloves and a water bottle.
