I think the best plan for Saturday is to head out early so we can beat the crowds at the trailhead. The longer loop is about four miles and should take us a couple of hours with some breaks along the way. We should pack some sandwiches and plenty of water since there aren't many spots to refill once we are on the trail. I checked the forecast and it looks partly cloudy with a slight breeze which should be comfortable for hiking. After we finish the hike we could stop at that deli you mentioned last week. I looked up their menu and the reviews are really solid. They have a good selection of hot and cold options so everyone should find something they like. If we still have energy after lunch we could walk through the old town area and browse the shops. There is a small bookstore I have been wanting to visit. Let me know if you want to adjust the timing or add anything else to the plan. I am flexible on the schedule.

The garden project is moving along nicely and I wanted to give you an update on the progress. I finished building the raised beds last weekend and filled them with a mix of topsoil and compost that seems to have good drainage. The tomato plants are already showing new growth and the pepper seedlings look healthy too. I installed a simple drip irrigation system using a timer so the watering stays consistent even when I am busy during the week. The system runs for about twenty minutes each morning which seems to be enough for now. I also added a small border of stones around each bed to keep the mulch in place. The pathways between the beds are covered with wood chips which helps keep the weeds down. I am planning to add a few herb varieties along the edges next week. The whole setup is taking shape nicely and I am pleased with how organized it looks. Let me know when you want to come by and take a look at the layout.
