Most people redesign a room in one click.

They upload a photo, choose a style, generate the result… and then wonder why something still feels off.

In this week’s case study, I’m taking a charming English country kitchen and showing you what happens when the same room is redesigned in multiple steps instead of trying to fix everything all at once.

The original space had so much character: stone flooring, a brick fireplace, an AGA cooker, and classic farmhouse details.

But it also felt visually heavy, cluttered, and a little disconnected.

So instead of doing one big redesign, I refined the space piece by piece, from clearing the clutter and reviewing the design direction to updating surfaces, colors, furniture, lighting, and styling.

The result feels completely different because the goal was not to erase the room.

It was to keep what made it special and improve what was holding it back.
