I wanted to let you know I finally got around to organizing the garage last weekend. It had been on my to-do list for months and I kept putting it off because the whole task felt overwhelming. But I broke it into smaller chunks and tackled one shelf at a time. Found some old camping gear I forgot we owned and a box of childhood photos that made me stop and look through everything. The best part was discovering a set of vintage tools my grandfather gave me years ago. I cleaned them up and they look almost new. My wife was impressed I actually finished the job without getting distracted halfway through. Now I can actually park the car inside again which is a nice change. The whole project took about six hours spread over two days. I rewarded myself with a long walk around the neighborhood afterward. Felt good to finally cross that off the list. Next weekend I might tackle the garden shed but we will see how ambitious I feel.

I was talking to my neighbor the other day about how our tomato plants are doing this season and he mentioned he switched to a new soil mix that seems to be working really well for his raised beds. He gave me a bag to try and I have to say the difference is noticeable after just a couple of weeks. The plants look greener and more vigorous compared to the ones I planted earlier in the season. I also started using a simple drip irrigation system on a timer which has been a game changer especially during this hot stretch we have been having. No more worrying about forgetting to water in the morning or overdoing it in the evening. My basil and rosemary are thriving too which is great because I use them in almost everything I cook. I made a big batch of pesto last night and it turned out really flavorful. The whole kitchen smelled amazing. I might try freezing some in ice cube trays so I have it on hand during the winter months when fresh herbs are harder to come by. My neighbor said he does the same thing every year and it works perfectly.
