Yeah I finally got around to trying that trail you mentioned last weekend. The weather was perfect not too hot and the views at the summit were absolutely worth the climb. I packed way too much water though my bag felt like it weighed fifty pounds going up. Next time I'll bring less and maybe some better snacks. The granola bars I brought were pretty dry. Let me know if you want to go again next month I think the fall colors would be amazing up there. I also saw a couple of deer on the way down which was a nice surprise. They just stood there looking at me for a few seconds before slowly wandering off into the trees. Really peaceful moment actually.
I ended up staying at the top for almost an hour just taking photos and enjoying the breeze. The whole hike took about four hours round trip which was shorter than I expected given the elevation gain. I think next time I'll bring a lightweight jacket because it got a bit chilly once the sun went behind the ridge. Let me know if you want to borrow my gear I have an extra pair of poles that worked great on the steeper sections.

I finally watched that series you recommended and I have to say it really grew on me after the first couple of episodes. The character development was surprisingly deep and I found myself really caring about what happened to them by the end. The cinematography was gorgeous too especially the scenes shot in the countryside. I think my favorite character was actually the supporting one who showed up around episode four she had the best lines and the most interesting backstory. Anyway I'm glad I gave it a chance because I almost stopped after the first episode. Have you seen the second season yet I heard it just dropped and I'm curious if it holds up. Let me know what you thought if you've already watched it.
I also started reading the book that the series is based on and it's interesting to see what they changed for the adaptation. The book goes into a lot more detail about the backstory of the town which adds a whole layer of context that the show only hints at. I'm about halfway through and already noticing several differences that I think actually work better in the show. Let me know if you want to borrow the book when I'm done.
