Yeah, I totally agree with you about the trail. We ended up taking the path around the lake instead because the parking lot for the main trail was completely full. It turned out to be a great decision though, because we saw a family of deer grazing right near the water. The weather was perfect, not too hot, just a slight breeze. We packed a simple lunch with some sandwiches and fruit. After we finished eating, my brother decided to go for a swim. The water was cold, but he said it was refreshing. We're definitely planning to go again next month, maybe camp overnight if we can get a reservation. Let me know if you find any other good spots around here.

We also tried that new Italian place downtown last weekend. The pasta was homemade and the sauce was incredibly rich. I highly recommend the tiramisu for dessert. It was busy around 7 PM, so we had to wait about 20 minutes for a table, but it was worth it. Let me know if you want to check it out next time you're in town.

I finally finished that novel you lent me last month. The plot twist at the end completely caught me off guard. I thought I had figured out the mystery around chapter three, but the author did a really good job of laying out subtle clues without making it obvious. The character development was solid too, especially the protagonist's journey. It reminded me a bit of that other book we read last year, the one set in the coastal town. I started a new book last night that takes place in a futuristic society, really different vibe so far. You should come over and grab the novel, and I can lend you the next one in the series if you want. Let me know what you think.

Also, my sister is thinking about adopting a puppy from the local shelter. She's been looking at a mixed breed that seems really playful and good with kids. I told her I'd help her puppy-proof her apartment this weekend. Should be interesting trying to hide all the loose cables and small objects. She's already picked out a name, something cute and classic. I'll send you a picture once she brings the pup home.
