Hey, I checked the calendar and next weekend works great for the get-together. Saturday afternoon is perfect. We can do a potluck style so everyone brings something. I'll make that pasta salad you liked last time. Let's aim for 2pm. I'll send out the group message later today to confirm with everyone. Let me know if you need help with anything else planning-wise. I think a casual backyard thing will be fun. We can set up some lawn games if people want. I have cornhole and that ladder toss game. Should be a nice relaxed time. The weather looks good too.

I finally tried that sourdough starter recipe you sent me. It took about a week to get it really active and bubbly but the first loaf came out pretty good. The crust was crispy and the inside had that nice chewy texture. I think I need to work on my scoring technique because the design on top didn't turn out as pretty as yours. I used bread flour instead of all-purpose and it made a difference in the rise. Next time I want to try adding some rosemary and sea salt on top. Thanks for the tip about keeping it in the warm spot near the window. That really helped it ferment faster. Let me know if you want me to save you a slice next time I bake. I'm planning to make another batch this weekend. Also I found a great whole wheat variation if you want the link. The r10r15 timing worked well for the bulk fermentation phase.
