A beautiful day of sunshine and low humidity

Another superb day ahead with full sunshine and low humidity.

Highs will be knocked down a couple of degrees from yesterday, generally near 80 this afternoon. We’ll be a bit cooler on the North Shore and out through Cape Ann thanks to a light sea breeze.

Tomorrow sees more of the same, with a more pronounced sea breeze at the coast. This will push the 80s back to Metrowest, outer Route 2 and into Southern New Hampshire (away from the Seacoast). We’ll see an increase in afternoon clouds as well.

The T learned from World Cup Game 1. Boston's next test is a game mid-commute.

Saturday’s World Cup game between Haiti and Scotland was by and large a success — Boston Stadium was full, though there were complaints about how long it took trains to get back to the city.

Just three days later, the region will do it all again, but Tuesday’s game will be a new test, since the Iraq vs. Norway game is being held on a weekday. That means the tens of thousands of people heading to Boston Stadium will be competing with commuters.

A series of street closures will be in place around South Station starting Tuesday morning, and the Massachusetts Department of Transportation is telling drivers who will be in or passing through the Foxborough area to expect delays.
