State tries to shut down Evanston psychiatric facility after string of crimes and violations

There were among 657 calls to 911 involving Albany Care residents from 2020 to May of 2025, according to the city of Evanston. Now, the Illinois Department of Public Health has revoked the license of Albany Care, home to about 170 people with mental health and substance abuse issues.
