Dear Friend,
Recently at UATX, Ben Shapiro joined us for a conversation about why Americans have lost trust in our core institutions and what it would take to rebuild them.
He spoke about the mistrust among Americans, how our institutions used to be rooted in truth but are now rooted in power, and how the media is no longer interested in facts and evidence but in narratives.
Afterward, Ben sat down with Joe Lonsdale for a wide-ranging discussion on higher education, religion, politics, social media, and more, followed by questions from students in the audience.
Here's the kind of education our students get: not Ben Shapiro talking at them, but our students pressing him -- on Lincoln and the Declaration, on whether populism can be undone, on how to find truth in a flood of noise. Few places in America still treat young people as capable of that conversation. We think that's exactly what they deserve.
