Good evening. Polls are closing in South Carolina’s runoff races, and over the next few hours Primary Day will wrap up in Maryland, New York and Utah, too.
New York, naturally, is home to the most high-drama races of the day. Primary contests here will test attitudes about artificial intelligence and Israel, President Trump and Mayor Zohran Mamdani, and will offer a window into the Democratic mood less than five months before the midterms.
You can follow along below with all of our coverage. And I’ll be back with a special edition of On Politics tomorrow to walk you through the results.
See you then!
— Katie Glueck, reporting from New York City
P.S. To our New York City or Hudson Valley readers who are voting in Democratic primaries today, I’d love to hear how you thought about your choices and how you’re feeling about the Democratic Party more broadly right now.
Write me at katie.glueck@nytimes.com. If you’d be willing to be quoted, please tell me — and include your full name, age and where you live. I may include some of your responses tomorrow.
