Hey - thanks for the note earlier. I finally got around to testing that new route you mentioned, and honestly it was a lot smoother than I expected. The trailhead was easy to find, and the signage was clear the whole way. I brought a friend who had never been on that loop before, and they really enjoyed the mix of open meadows and shaded sections. We stopped at the little creek around mile three and just sat for a while. The water was cold but not freezing, and the sound was exactly what I needed after a long week. I think next time we could bring a small lunch and make a longer day of it. There were a few spots that would be perfect for a break. Let me know if you want to try it together once your schedule opens up. I'd be happy to go again. Also, I finally got around to washing my gear from last weekend, and everything held up fine. Vln6jNZmhgtsdsy I might pick up another pair of those lightweight pants before the next trip. Anyway, that's all from me for now.

Oh yeah, I finally started that gardening project I kept putting off. I built two small raised beds in the corner of the yard where the sun hits the longest. The soil mix took a while to get right, but I think I've got it dialed in now. I planted tomatoes, basil, and a few pepper varieties. Everything seems to be coming up fine so far, though I lost one seedling that got too much wind. I added a little bamboo screen to break the gusts and the rest are doing great. I've been watering every morning before it gets hot, and I can already see flowers forming on the tomatoes. I'm not sure I'll get a huge harvest this first season, but it's honestly just nice to have something to tend to after work. I also threw in a few marigold seeds around the edges because I read they help with pests. It's a small start, but I'm looking forward to seeing how it looks by mid-summer. Let me know if you want some peppers once they come in.
