Students Take the Lead at the Annual Global Action Showcase
On Tuesday, April 28th, our community came together for an extraordinary celebration of student leadership, global citizenship, and community impact at the Global Action Showcase.
The energy in the room was electric as over 50 student presenters highlighted their innovative community actions aimed at tackling the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Global Perspectives, Local Impact
A major highlight of the event was the presentations by our Global Classroom Project (GCP) participants. Students shared powerful stories about their collaborative experiences and the invaluable lessons learned from working alongside their international partner classes.
As they presented to a diverse audience—including peers, teachers, Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) administrators, School Board members, the FCPS Leadership Team, and various community stakeholders—students brilliantly demonstrated their Portrait of a Graduate skills, proving that they are truly communication-focused, collaborative, and globally-minded leaders.

An Inspiring Keynote Speaker
We were honored to welcome Mr. Jarrett James Lash as our keynote speaker. As the 14th UNA-USA Youth Observer to the United Nations, Mr. Lash brought a wealth of inspiration to our students. Having attended school nearby in Prince William County, he shared how meaningful it was to be back in the Northern Virginia region to witness the incredible global changemaking happening right here in FCPS.
