General Motors is reportedly developing the BEV-N platform to succeed the BEV3 architecture, which supports models such as the Chevrolet Equinox EV and Cadillac Lyriq. The BEV-N platform is expected to debut in 2028 or 2029, with the next-generation Equinox EV and Blazer EV as the first models.

Polestar to halt US sales in 2027 under China EV rule

Polestar will cease US sales starting with the 2027 model year after the Commerce Department denied authorization under the Connected Vehicles Rule, which restricts imports of vehicles with Chinese-linked connected technology. The move is part of broader government efforts to curb Chinese electric vehicles amid national security concerns. Polestar, which is majority owned by China-based Geely, has shifted its focus to Europe, where 78% of its first-quarter sales occurred. The company will continue to sell existing models and provide service in the US.
