RVES News and Notes - June 26

June 26 - News and Notes!

Happy Summer, Rolling Valley Families!

I hope everyone has enjoyed their first full week of summer break!

Throughout the summer, I will continue to send our weekly newsletter with any important updates or information that families may need. While they won't be as robust as they are during the school year, they will help keep everyone informed of any important news and upcoming events.

Our school office is open Monday through Friday. If you have any questions or need assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out. You can email me at vdelbagno@fcps.edu or call our main office at 703-923-2705.

On behalf of the entire Rolling Valley staff, thank you for your continued partnership and support. We wish you a safe, relaxing, and joy-filled summer, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back before we know it!

Veronica Del Bagno
Principal, Rolling Valley

Summer Resources

Help Students Stay Curious, Healthy, and Busy

The FCPS Summer Resource Guide has activities and tips on a variety of subjects and interests, from camps and activities to health and safety resources.

Be sure to check back over the summer, as more resources may be added.

Learning Doesn’t Take a Vacation and Neither Does Fun! The FCPS Summer Learning webpage offers ideas and strategies for families to keep students curious until August. Summer is the perfect time to help your student explore new interests, reinforce concepts, and stay engaged!

FCPS Summer Learning Resources are now available for students and families. Resources are organized by grade level and provide opportunities for students to review previously taught concepts, practice skills, and explore new ideas throughout the summer.

Families can access the resources at any time as one of many ways to support continued learning and engagement over the summer.

Additional resources will continue to be added throughout June.

Camp Details:

Spartan Volleyball Camp is designed and has a session for athletes of all skill levels who are eager to enhance their game in a challenging and supportive environment. Camp sessions are structured by age and skill level to ensure every player receives personalized instruction and the best opportunity for growth.

Campers will have the unique opportunity to train with experienced high school coaches from across the country, as well as current college athletes. Campers in Session A and B will also get to work with the high school athletes from the Virginia State Champions team! Sessions will include individual skill development, group instruction, and competitive tournament play, all designed to help players refine their technique, build confidence, and elevate their overall performance.

Session C is ONLY for advanced players.  Unfortunately, we do not have a session for rising 10th-12th graders who are new to volleyball or who only have freshmen team level experience and/or rec volleyball experience.  Athletes attending Session C must have played on their high school Varsity or JV team or are currently playing on a competitive club team. If you are signing up for Session C, the expectation is that you are playing volleyball at or close to the Varsity level.  Most rising 9th graders should be attending session B.
