I think you're right about the hiking trail we took last weekend being the better option for beginners. The path up to Eagle Ridge has too many rocky sections that would be tough for someone just starting out. My friend Sarah tried it last month and said she wished she'd started with something easier. The meadow loop you suggested has much gentler slopes and better views anyway. Plus there's that creek about halfway through where you can stop and rest. I'm planning to go again this Saturday if the weather holds up. Let me know if you want to join. We could pack a lunch and make a day of it. I'll bring my binoculars in case we spot any birds. Last time I saw a red-tailed hawk near the old oak tree. 7IctLeAuDj7ZZ00 I also heard there might be a family of deer living in the brush near the south end of the trail.

I finally tried that sourdough recipe you sent me last week. It turned out better than I expected for a first attempt. The crust was nice and crispy but the inside stayed soft. I think I let it rise a bit too long though because it was slightly denser than I wanted. Next time I'll cut the proofing time by about thirty minutes. My neighbor said it smelled amazing while it was baking. I used a mix of white and whole wheat flour since that's what I had on hand. It gave it a nice nutty flavor. I'm going to try adding some rosemary and sea salt to the next batch. Have you ever tried that variation? Let me know if you want a loaf next time I bake. I also saw a video about scoring patterns and might attempt a simple leaf design on the top.
