Yes I think the best approach for the neighborhood cleanup is to start with the park and then work our way down Maple Street. I already spoke with a few neighbors and they are on board with bringing trash bags and gloves. The city said they would pick up the bags if we leave them by the curb by noon. So maybe we aim for a 9am start and wrap up around 11:30. That gives us time to sort everything. Let me know if you want to adjust the route or start earlier. I just think starting at the park gives us a visible win right away.

Actually I think the best way to handle the garden beds is to build them about 18 inches high so you don't have to bend over too much. I used untreated cedar for mine and it has held up really well for three seasons now. You'll want to line the bottom with hardware cloth to keep the voles out. I learned that the hard way. For soil I would do a mix of topsoil and compost, about 60-40. That should give you good drainage and nutrients. I can help you lay it out next weekend if you are free.
