Yeah I totally get what you mean about the weekend plans. We ended up going to that little bakery you mentioned and honestly the sourdough was incredible. I've been trying to replicate it at home but mine never gets that perfect crust. Maybe it's the steam in the oven or maybe I just need more practice. Oh that's so funny you mentioned the garden because I was just thinking the same thing. The tomatoes are finally starting to ripen and I have way more than I know what to do with. I've been making sauce and freezing it but I might try canning this year if I can find the right equipment. Your tip about the mulch really helped by the way the weeds are way less aggressive now. I also saw that the local nursery is having a sale on perennials this weekend so I might go check it out. If you're free maybe we can go together.
