Yes we finally got around to redoing the back patio. We went with large concrete pavers in a warm charcoal tone. They look really sharp against the white siding. We also added a small pergola over the seating area. I still need to stain it but the weather hasn't cooperated. We found some outdoor string lights that should look nice once everything is done. The whole project took about three weekends. The hardest part was leveling the ground because we had some drainage issues. We put in a French drain along the back edge which should keep things dry. My neighbor helped with the heavy lifting and I bought him dinner for his trouble. We're planning to add some potted plants and maybe a small fire pit next spring.

We spent the morning at the farmers market and picked up some really nice produce. The strawberries were incredibly sweet and we got a big basket of them. There was a vendor selling fresh goat cheese that paired perfectly with the baguette we found at the bakery stand. I also grabbed some asparagus and snap peas for a stir fry later this week. The weather was perfect sunny but not too hot. We walked around for about two hours and grabbed a coffee from a little cart near the entrance. I noticed a booth selling heirloom tomato plants and I'm thinking about going back next weekend to pick up a few for the garden. The kids enjoyed sampling the different apple varieties and we ended up buying a bag of honeycrisps. Overall a really pleasant morning and we came home with more than we planned but that always happens.
