What's New on data.census.gov
Our Primary Focus is on Cloud Migration
As part of the government-wide framework to modernize IT, over the next year we will be focusing on migrating the data and infrastructure for data.census.gov, the Census Data API, and Microdata Access (MDAT) to the cloud.
Cloud adoption is central to modernizing federal services, data analytics, enabling AI, and improved customer experience. In order to provide a stable platform for migration, we will have limited code development over the next several months. We will, however, continue to provide the same quality and timely data releases our users are accustomed to receiving.
As we focus on this important behind-the-scenes effort, we want to thank you for continuing to share your feedback as it helps to shape the future of our dissemination platform.
Fun Fact: There are currently 1,956 datasets available on the Census Data API.
Outreach and Events
Our staff has attended several conferences over the past few months and will continue participating in events throughout the summer.
These events give us the opportunity to connect with data users, answer questions, and gather feedback.
