I finally got around to clearing out the garden beds this weekend. The soil is actually in pretty good shape, just needs a bit of compost before I plant the fall vegetables. I'm thinking of trying kale and Brussels sprouts this year. Have you ever grown those? I heard they do pretty well in this climate if you start them early enough. I tried that sourdough recipe you sent me. It turned out better than I expected! The crust was perfectly crispy, and the inside was soft and airy. I let it proof for almost 12 hours overnight, which I think made a big difference. I used bread flour instead of all-purpose, and it gave it a nice chewy texture.
