Editor’s note: We don’t have an issue this Sunday but we do have a few new things to share. For starters, readers let us know what we missed on our list of the best food and places to eat. We’re also resurfacing a few timely travel stories. The crossword and Sudoku are in the Metro section of today’s Globe. As always, thanks for reading!
BEST OF THE BEST
We picked the best bagels, ice cream, Cape restaurants, and more. Readers said we missed a few.
As expected, readers had some strong reactions to our annual Best of the Best awards, which included best bagels in Boston: “The best bagel shop is an Amtrak ticket to NYC, the bagels here don’t hold a candle,” one reader commented. Fair enough. We also waded into another new category: best restaurants on Cape Cod. You had thoughts on those, too. So we’re passing along some reader recommendations.
How much is too much to pay for a sandwich?
Globe food critic Devra First found herself asking that question after there was reader outcry when Sam La Grassa’s didn’t make the cut for the inaugural best sandwiches list in the 2025 Best of the Best. Readers said La Grassa’s famous pastrami sandwiches, which cost around $30, belonged on the list. Find out if Devra agreed.
