“We have not done this in a while,” Justin Baldoni warns at the start of his Instagram video, seated alongside his wife, Emily. The couple doesn’t usually post like this — front-facing videos, cross-posted on each other’s accounts for maximum visibility. The video also marks the first time that Baldoni has spoken publicly since December 2024, before he was sued for sexual harassment by his It Ends With Us co-star Blake Lively. The two finally settled in May just a few weeks before they were scheduled to go to trial in New York. Their joint statement was not followed by an apology by either party. “It felt like every time we went to make a video like this where we wanted to speak, something was telling us not to. It just didn’t feel like the right time,” Baldoni explains, which sounds vaguely divine but might just have been practical legal advice. “We were talking about it and feeling into it and praying on it,” he adds, before Emily concludes, “This feels like the moment.”
For all that the Baldonis intend to look casual — at home, zero production value, and speaking directly to camera — the video is extremely manicured.
