City officials say they hope the new law would help them react to violent incidents.

Dozens of protestors joined a “die in” at the Centennial field office for Immigration and Customs Enforcement days after a contractor for the federal agency shot a protestor outside one of its detention facilities.

“We do not have direct communication from the facility to understand the situation inside,” Adams County Health Department spokeswoman Jennifer Lucero-Alvarez said Monday. “We remain concerned.”

The move, announced Monday, could unleash a new wave of economic chaos.

“Voters are intrigued by AI, but they have a lot of anxieties,” said Steven Kull of the Program for Public Consultation. “They agree it’s not enough for the tech companies themselves to regulate AI.”

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney plan to attend the final.

“How does it happen in the middle of the day, especially when it sounds like staff did some kind of intervention (the day before)?” immigrant-rights advocate Alex Sánchez said.
