Hi Klop,
Last June, I was invited to speak at a private mastermind in Guangzhou, China.
Small room. Serious people. Founders, business owners — some running factories, some running plantations. Real businesses, real revenue, real skin in the game.
At some point, the conversation moved to promotion.
So I observed their traffic situation.
Not their tactics, their situation.
One point kept coming up: Unpredictable.
Not "I don't know which platform to use." Not "I need better content."
Unpredictable. No certainty before a launch. No system quietly building momentum in the background while they focused on running their business.
Here's the thing — their businesses are still doing great, really great.
But I couldn't help thinking, imagine
if they had a proper traffic system in place, tapping into the internet to reach not just China, but the world.
I've seen this same pattern show up again and again. Across markets, industries, experience levels. Doesn't matter.
Most business owners follow the same advice when traffic dries up: do more of it. Post more. Spend more on ads. Get AI to pump out more videos and hope one goes viral.
Then sales don't move, and they're right back
to square one — looking for traffic again, urgently, hoping it shows up in time.
The advice isn't wrong, it's just answering the wrong question because here's what most people don't realize is this:
Traffic doesn't need to be manufactured. It already exists.
Right now, the people you want to reach are already paying attention to something. A platform. A community. A person they follow. Someone already has that attention, and has their
trust.
The real question was never "how do I get more traffic."
It's this: who already has the attention I want, and what does it take to route that attention toward my business?
I'll unpack this properly in my next email — including the 3 layers every business needs to move through to stop chasing traffic and start owning it.
Talk soon,
Patric Chan
