I love hearing what people do once they properly get the hang of propagation, because it's rarely just "I made one new plant." It tends to spiral, in the best possible way.

A few stories that have stuck with me:

• One person propagated 66 baby Pothos from a single plant to give out as wedding favours. Took four months, and by her own account it was one of the most meaningful parts of planning the day.
• A teacher started propagating Pothos cuttings with her kindergarten class as a science project. The kids were convinced the cuttings would die "like flowers in a vase." Turns out watching a five-year-old realise a leaf just grew its own roots is a pretty good use of a school term.
• And someone else told me about a begonia that's been in their family for over 50 years. Passed down as a cutting from their grandmother, then to them as a housewarming gift, and last year they finally made their first cut from it to keep the family thread going.

None of these people set out thinking "I'm going to build a plant legacy." They just took one cutting. Then another. Then a windowsill became a shelf, and a shelf became a room, and suddenly they were the person their friends came to when their own plants were dying.

That's really what this is about. Not just "here's how to propagate a Pothos," but here's how you become the kind of plant parent who can multiply anything, gift anything, pass anything down.

You don't need 66 plants worth of ambition to start. You need one cutting and about twenty minutes.
