For the past year and a half, we've hosted live monthly discussions on the latest developments emerging from the Trump White House. Our goals were simple: Help you cut through the chaos, understand what's happening in Washington, and make sense of what it all means for higher education.

Today, the story has grown more complicated. Federal policy remains a big part of the picture, but the pressures reshaping higher education increasingly come from outside the Beltway. 

Colleges face rapid advances in artificial intelligence, mounting financial pressures, legal challenges, leadership turnover, state scrutiny, and constant battles over campus culture. More and more, viewers are asking us to connect the dots across all of these stories. We realized the focus of our shows should expand to meet that need.

So we're excited to introduce Daily Briefing Live: The Latest in Higher Ed.  It's the same live monthly conversation about the most important news shaping the sector, now with even more to talk about.

The soul of the series remains the same. It's still free. We'll continue to welcome other Chronicle reporters and outside experts to add depth to the conversation. Sarah remains stuck co-hosting with Rick, and Rick promises to mostly refrain from goading her into complaining about her fantasy baseball team.

And once each quarter, we'll devote an entire session to answering audience questions — digging deeper into the issues that matter most to you. (Those are, if we're being honest, our favorite shows.)
