Downpours and bouts of heavy rain are still in order today.

A slow-moving weather system will steer the water-logged clouds over central and eastern Massachusetts from mid-morning through the afternoon and evening.

We had a little taste of what’s to come yesterday when Greater Worcester and Manchester, New Hampshire, were hit with 1-2 inches of rain. While flooding won’t be widespread, some pockets of heavier rain will cause localized ponding, briefly flooding intersections and low spots along roads or neighborhoods.

The former husband of a Massachusetts woman on trial for killing their three young children is expected to return to the stand Wednesday, continuing his testimony about a day that began with art projects and playtime in the snow and ended with him coming home to find the bodies.

Prosecutors say Lindsay Clancy strangled her children — Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months — on Jan. 24, 2023, after sending her then-husband, Patrick, out for some errands. She then used multiple methods to try to end her own life and was paralyzed from the waist down after jumping from the home’s second-story window.

Whether Clancy killed the children is not in dispute. But her attorney argues that she was driven by postpartum psychosis, a rare mental illness linked to the stress, sleep deprivation and hormonal changes that follow childbirth. Prosecutors contend that she acted intentionally and bears full responsibility for the deaths.

A man is accused of calling in a bomb threat to a movie theater in downtown Boston after harassing an employee on Tuesday afternoon.

Police responded to AMC Boston Common on Tremont Street around 3:45 p.m. after an anonymous man claiming to be a federal agent “stated, through a purported secretary, that there was a bomb at the theater.”

Security personnel told police they removed a man from the theater minutes before the bomb threat was reported. The man had allegedly made inappropriate comments to a female employee and was “believed to be under the influence of an unknown substance,” according to police.

The police chief of Stoughton, Massachusetts, has taken her dispute with the town over her job to court, and she’s received the backing of the town’s firefighter union.

Stoughton Police Chief Donna McNamara on Monday filed a civil lawsuit claiming the town and its manager breached their contract in their effort to force her out.

Last week, the town said an acting police chief was in place, but didn’t say why. McNamara, who’s been the chief for almost a decade, said Town Manager Thomas Calter had ordered her to resign or be fired after she’d filed a complaint against him, while her attorney told NBC10 Boston McNamara hadn’t stepped down or been told why she was out.

The bar that served the man whom police say drunkenly drove down the wrong side of Route 1 and killed a Massachusetts state trooper this year is fighting to keep its liquor license.

Operators of Tribu Mexican Kitchen and Bar appeared in front of state alcohol license regulators in Chelsea Tuesday. Hernan Marrero left the restaurant on May 6 two times over the legal driving limit and crashed into Trooper Kevin Trainor’s cruiser, killing them both, prosecutors have said. They didn’t bring charges against Tribu.

Tribu is only allowed to serve alcohol during certain hours and not allowed to let people drink for free. State liquor license regulators testified that the restaurant violated the conditions of their liquor license when they served Marrero nine drinks, seven of them after hours, and didn’t charge him for those drinks.

Two people involved in a crash this weekend in Concord, Massachusetts, have died from their injuries.

A Tesla Model 3 and a Honda Accord crashed at the intersection of Walden Street and Bristers Hill Road around 1 p.m. Saturday, leaving five people hurt.

Police said Tuesday that two of the Tesla’s occupants — 82-year-old John Hamilton and 85-year-old Paula Hamilton, both of Concord — had died after being airlifted to Lahey Hospital in Burlington.
