Good morning! A cloud gazing drawing that sums up my feelings as I read the news this morning.
The scope of Trump’s Iran war just got bigger on Wednesday and this morning; there were new strikes on Iran. Iran’s militias have been under control, as they were trying to meet Trump’s demands, but in the past 24 hours this seems to be crumbling. A wave of U.S.-Saudi airstrikes that targeted the militias yesterday, killed 20 people. The war seems to be spreading. Trump threatened this possibility before the strikes, which we’ve heard him say before.
“We’re going to be hitting them very hard,” he told reporters in the Oval Office. “Because it’s our turn to hit them.”

Trump is a dangerous man, and not well. Can we say that enough?
The GOP delayed the confirmation vote on Todd Blanche’s bid to become Attorney General. This because Senators John Cornyn and Thom Tillis accused Blanche of refusing to put on paper his promise to kill aspects of the deal he cut to settle Trump’s suit against the IRS. This suit would give enormous tax advantages to Trump.
This is nuts. Led by Rand Paul, Republicans brutally attacked Dr. Anthony Fauci in a Senate hearing yesterday. Using his right to not answer any of their questions, Fauci invoked the fifth more than 100 times. They insulted him, called him a narcissist who sought fame and financial gain, and accused him of starting the pandemic. Paul has an obsession with Dr. Fauci, and has for years. I just do not understand why this happened. One assumes the GOP decided to humor Rand Paul’s desire to publicly try to humiliate Fauci in an attempt to help Trump.
Most Americans do not want a Democratic Socialist running the country, yet this is not stopping Bernie Sanders and the far left. Their continued pushing of candidates will cause problems for Democrats in 2028. Many in this faction do not seem concerned about stopping MAGA and saving our democracy in 2028, they are more concerned with trying to change the Democratic Party at all costs. They see their cause as a “revolution.” I invite you to watch this clip of Sanders on Face The Nation last Sunday. His opening response to Margaret Brennan’s question is blatently competitive with Rahm Emanuel. Sanders is a bad dream that just keeps returning.
