Dear Aldrin Elementary School Families,
We hope you are enjoying a wonderful summer and spending lots of time together with family and friends. We also hope you are taking some time to read and practice your math concepts this summer.
We also hope you will join us for our Open House on Friday, August 21st. This is a time to meet the teacher, see the classroom, and bring in school supplies. (If you purchased supplies from the PTA, they will be available for pick up at Open House.) If you need a list of school supplies, you will find them on our website. If you need assistance with school supplies, please reach out to our School Social Worker, Mrs. Rebecca Hollow, at rahollow@fcps.edu . We are very fortunate that our business partner, Bright Spot, donated backpacks filled with required school supplies for anyone who requests assistance.
Open House Schedule:
11:00 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. | Preschool, PAC, Enhanced Autism Classes, Kindergarten, and First Grade
11:45 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. | Popsicles on the Playground (Sponsored by the PTA)
12:30 p.m. - 1:15 p.m. | Grades 2-6 and Non-CAT students
1:15 p.m. - 1:45 p.m. | Popsicles on the Playground (Sponsored by the PTA)
Open House is designed for families to visit classrooms and meet teachers, so it will not be a time for parent-teacher conferences. Teachers need to be able to greet all families during this event.
Please also mark your calendar for Back-to-School Night on Wednesday, September 16th, beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Additional information about the upcoming school year will be sent in the next week or so. Please watch for that email, as it will include a great deal of helpful information.
The summer’s biggest question: Who is my child’s teacher? All FCPS class placements will be available in ParentVUE beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 20th. If you do not have a ParentVUE account, please call the school at 703-904-3800, and Mrs. Adgate will be happy to help you.
