Seeking Volunteers With Sickle Cell Disease
NIH researchers are seeking adults aged 18 and older with sickle cell disease for a research study evaluating VAS-101 gel, an investigational product containing curcumin, to determine whether it is safe and well-tolerated.
What to Expect:
- Investigational gel applied to the skin twice weekly for six weeks
- Routine physical exams
- Vital sign checks (blood pressure and heart rate)
- Standard blood draws
- Test to measure oxygen levels and blood flow
- Approximately 14 weeks total, including:
- 4-week screening period
- 10-week study period
- About 15 in-person clinic visits
