I hope you are having a good weekend and a quiet Sunday. The above drawing is a personal favorite because I like drawing people with instruments. Below is a photo of a performance of Yo-Yo Ma and myself; he played his cello and I drew him on my iPad in front of an audience of about 100 people. It was magical. I wrote about it here, and I also paste it below. That was an amazing experience, a highlight of my career. As you see below, Yo-Yo loves to laugh. Thank you for being here!! See you tomorrow. Here is the article from Seeing Things: Last Wednesday, I was given the privilege to be onstage and draw and improvise with master cellist Yo-Yo Ma. It was an incredible honor. I drew, he played. I watched him, and the audience; he watched me and my drawing as it appeared onscreen. It was a multiple collaboration. I responded to what he was playing, he responded to what I was drawing. In between the playing and drawing, we discussed many things, moderated by Stage Director Guy Ben-Aharon. Some drawings were of the audience, some of Yo-Yo, and one was pure imagination in response to his playing. Two arts interacting. |
