Don’t Risk It: Please Follow Safe & Legal Medication Practices
Don’t Risk It: Follow Safe Medication Practices

Dear Veteran,

We want to keep you safe and informed. Many websites and social media groups offer "free" medications. Please be careful! It is illegal to sell, give away, or trade prescription medicines if you do not have a legal prescription.

Sharing or taking medication this way can harm your health and break the law. Instead, here are some safe options:

1. Medication Disposal Bags:
If you have unused medicines, ask us about safe disposal bags. These help you safely dispose of medications without ending up in landfills or drinking water.

2. Wyoming Medication Donation Program:
This program takes unused, unexpired medicines and gives them to Wyoming residents who cannot afford their prescriptions.

  • You may donate sealed, unexpired medicines (no controlled substances or refrigerated meds).
  • Anyone can donate. You can mail them or drop them off at locations across Wyoming.
  • To ask for donated medicines, you must:
    • Live in Wyoming
    • Have a low income (less than double the federal poverty level)
    • Not have enough prescription insurance

Thank you for your service.

We are honored to serve you!
