Job opening:  Postdoctoral Scholar - Coastal Image Analysis and Modeling
San Francisco, CA (hybrid) | 18 months | Due September 4, 2026.

Seeking a postdoctoral scholar to analyze a 30-year archive of shoreline photos from 60+ beaches along the north-central California coast – none of it previously analyzed for shoreline or dune change – and to run process-based coastal model projections.

This is a Python and machine learning-heavy role working with real-world historical imagery and multiple integrated data sources. The position is co-advised by Dr. Wendy Kordesch (Greater Farallones Association / GFCBNMS) and Dr. Sean Vitousek (USGS) and is housed at GFA as a NOAA affiliate.

Strong quantitative and computational skills and experience with environmental modeling required.
