Could 2 Hillsborough commissioners upend Rays stadium deal?

Chris Boles and Christine Miller were among the five Hillsborough county commissioners who voted in favor of a nonbinding stadium agreement with the Tampa Bay Rays in May. 

Days before city and county officials are expected to vote on a Rays stadium deal, they’re taking issue with how the project has evolved.

A $152M scheme: Two Tampa execs defrauded thousands of investors

Brandon "Dutch" Mendenhall and Amy Vaughn raised $152 million from over 5,500 investors through an “unregistered fraudulent securities offering,” according to federal investigators. RAD Diversified lied to investors about its profitability, stock value and liquidity, according to records, and details of the case include private jets, nightclubs and gun ranges.
