Get a Lovecraftian Pen Pal In the spirit of celebrating the times in which HPL lived, a group of HPLHS members has created the Weird Fiction Readers Epistolary Club. Inspired in large part by the "Weird Tales Club," the purpose is to give you the opportunity to correspond by mail, like HPL and his friends did. Enjoy the anticipation of letters in your mailbox, get away from the 'instant' communication for a while, and put that fountain pen to good use. If you're over a certain age, you may even recall the fun of having a pen pal as a child. So much more fun if your epistolary partners are fellow fans of the weird and cosmic. And, you may even receive some special "perks" along the way... While this is not an official HPLHS project, we are happy to give it our seal of approval and encouragement. If you would like to participate, please send the following information to: WFREC, P.O. Box 29068 Indianapolis, Indiana 46229. To speed up the process you may also send to e-mail address: WeirdFictionReaders@proton.meYour title (e.g. Mr, Mrs, Dr, Lord, Lady, Baroness, Squire, etc.) Your name Your complete mailing address Your age or age group A brief bit of background information (such as how long you've been an HPLHS member, HPL aficionado, hobbies, other favorite authors etc.)
You will receive by return a list of all the members, and you can then write to whomever you please. To be noted: The HPLHS cannot control or oversee the experience of this process; the quality, quantity, nature, and tone of your correspondence may vary.

These titles were flying off our shelves earlier this summer. At last, back orders are out the door and we have more copies on hand, ready to ship to you. Chaosium's Innsmouth sourcebook provides scads of information about the history, locations, and fishy residents of Innsmouth. Sean & Andrew contributed to this book and we think you'll love it. They'll even sign your copy free! The HPLHS helped in the procurement of a trove of letters from HPL to Frank Belknap Long for the John Hay Library. They've now been published in A Sense of Proportion, a beautiful 800+ page hardback edition by the mad geniuses over at Hippocampus Press. The hardback is a highly limited print run, and we have a stack of them ready to ship to you!

The circumstances of the death turn out to be strange and the terms of the deceased's will are stranger still. As usual, NecronomiCon Providence was a hoot. It was great to see so many HPL fans having fun in the Old Gent's hometown. We were involved in the art show, the Grand Emporium of the Bizarre, two live Dark Adventure shows (see above), live readings, many academic panels, and things we cannot and must not recall. It was a splendid time. We will be feeding the News & Information page of the HPLHS website with additional photos and info soon.
