New Data Files
The MEPS HC-256: 2024 Full Year Consolidated Data File provides all the person-level variables, including SAQ, CSAQ, ESAQ, health insurance, health care utilization, and health care expenditures, for a nationally representative sample of the civilian noninstitutionalized population of the United States for calendar year 2024.

The MEPS HC-255: 2024 Medical Conditions File provides information on household-reported medical conditions collected from a nationally representative sample of the civilian noninstitutionalized population of the United States for calendar year 2024.

The MEPS HC-254I: Appendix to MEPS 2024 Event Files contains the Conditions-Event Link (CLNK) File, which includes variables needed to link the 2024 Medical Conditions File (HC-255) with the 2024 Event Files.

The 1996-2024 MEPS Replicates for BRR Variance Estimation File contains the standard MEPS person ID variables for linking with the 1996-2024 MEPS person-level public use files and a set of 128 sample indicators. Data can be used to calculate standard errors through application of the balanced repeated replication (BRR) technique.

The 1996-2024 MEPS Pooled Linkage Variance Estimation File contains combined variance stratum and PSU variables, along with the standard MEPS person ID variables, for linking with the 1996-2024 MEPS person-level public use files.

The 1996-2024 MEPS-NHIS Link files contain crosswalks that will enable data users to merge the MEPS Full-Year Population Characteristics PUF, or similarly, the MEPS Full-Year Consolidated PUF, with the corresponding NHIS person-level PUFs that contain data collected for MEPS respondents in the year prior to their initial year of MEPS participation. For reasons of confidentiality, the MEPS-NHIS Link files are available only through the AHRQ Data Center.
