Mark Wahlberg and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II are teaming up on screen for an unlikely partnership: a notorious mob hitman and a young Black FBI agent working together amid the racial violence of 1960s Mississippi.

In an interview with NBC10 Boston’s The Hub Today host Kwani Lunis, the actors opened up about their new thriller, “By Any Means,” including the research that went into their characters, building trust on set and the internal battles their characters face.

The film, directed by Elegance Bratton, is inspired by a true story and follows FBI agent Wayne Strider, played by Abdul-Mateen II, as he investigates killings targeting civil rights leaders. He is forced to work alongside mob hitman Greg Scarpa, played by Wahlberg, as the two pursue justice in a system that has failed them.

Katie Holmes appears to have confirmed her romance with rumored boyfriend Jason Bard Yarmosky.

On Sept. 1, the “Dawson’s Creek” star posted a pair of pictures on Instagram seeming to indicate they are a couple.

“Happy Birthday to the best of the best…❤️@jasonbardyarmosky,” she captioned a pair of photos.

Carla Jeffery, best known for her role in the Disney Channel movie franchise “Zombies,” died Tuesday.

She was 33.

Jeffery’s manager, Carla Alexander, shared the news of her death in a post on the actor’s Instagram page on Wednesday night.

Colin Kaepernick said he believes that Jay-Z’s recent comments about him speak to a “guilty conscience,” as the fallout between the former quarterback and the rapper deepens. Kaepernick responded as part of an extensive interview with NBC News after Jay-Z dissed the athlete during a recent concert.

In July, Jay-Z took aim at Kaepernick, the former San Francisco 49ers star, mentioning him and his settlement with the NFL in an impromptu rap during a series of concerts at Yankee Stadium.

“They run out of characters, had to bring back up [Kaepernick] again,” Jay-Z said, referring to people who have criticized him for a recent partnership with Target. “Buddy took a check, I ain’t even mad at him, but along with that check you have to sign a non-disparagement. I’m the one [the NFL] can’t control.”

Dolly Parton’s theme park in east Tennessee will unveil new features for fans to honor the life of the “dreamer-in-chief,” Dolly Parton, who died at the age of 80.

Sevierville, in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains, will also be placing markers throughout the city for a self-guided walking tour of places that were important to the singer, actor and philanthropist. She grew up in rural Sevier County and transformed the theme park into the county’s largest employer and a major tourist destination.

In a press conference held Wednesday, park officials announced plans to add a new character to the park called the Dream Maker, inspired by Parton’s Imagination Library, as well as adding a waterfall and stained glass windows to a chapel inside the park to reflect her deep faith.

Travis Kelce is finally spilling the tea on his wedding with Taylor Swift, including why the star couple chose Madison Square Garden as their wedding venue on July 3.

Despite inviting roughly 1,000 guests, many of whom were high-profile, Kelce said the couple wanted a space that felt private in the middle of New York City. 

“We wanted to do it somewhere where we could have an intimate and genuine setting without a lot of distractions,” the Kansas City Chiefs star said on Wednesday’s episode of his “New Heights” podcast. “We needed it to be a private feel. MSG went above and beyond to give us that.”
