Hi wahwa,

As part of our ongoing efforts to keep VALR a safe and secure platform, we’d like to share an important reminder regarding transfers to and from certain crypto asset platforms and wallet addresses.

As a licensed and regulated business, VALR is required to comply with applicable laws and regulatory obligations, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and sanctions requirements. This means that we cannot allow crypto asset transfers to or from sanctioned persons, entities, platforms or wallet addresses, or other parties or infrastructure that we identify as being subject to applicable restrictions.

To help you avoid a transfer being delayed, rejected or otherwise restricted, please review the information below before sending crypto from, or receiving crypto into, your VALR account.

How to Verify Counterparty Platforms

As sanctions and risk designations can change, please check the relevant platform or wallet before sending or receiving crypto.

The following resources may assist with these checks:

  • U.S. OFAC Sanctions Search: sanctionssearch.ofac.treas.gov
  • EU Financial Sanctions Map: sanctionsmap.eu
  • UK OFSI Consolidated List: gov.uk/ofsi
  • UK FCA Warning List: fca.org.uk
  • FATF High-Risk Jurisdictions: fatf-gafi.org
  • United Nations Security Council Consolidated List: main.un.org

These resources are helpful reference points but may not cover every platform or restriction. Please also consult other relevant and up-to-date sources when checking a counterparty and before sending or receiving crypto.

What happens if I send crypto to or receive crypto from a restricted platform or wallet?

If a transfer involves a restricted entity or address, VALR may review, delay, reject, or suspend the transaction. In accordance with regulatory requirements, we may also be required to restrict or freeze the relevant assets or prevent them from being allocated to an account. Please ensure you verify both the sender and recipient details before initiating any transfer.

Need help verifying a platform?

If you are unsure about a platform or wallet, please contact the VALR Support team at help@valr.com or via our Help Center before proceeding with a transfer.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding. These measures enable VALR to meet its licensing and regulatory obligations and help protect our customers and platform. Taking a moment to check the platform or wallet you are transacting with before sending or receiving crypto can help avoid blocked transfers, delays, or other restrictions.

The VALR Team
