Which packs do we keep coming back to?

We asked Leo, one of the people behind the sounds at LABS, to pick three of his favourite packs and tell us why they’ve stuck with him. From working with an artist he loved to stuffing T-shirts inside a piano, each pack has a story behind it.

Liminal Hotel

"I’d been raving about Léa Sen to everyone at work, so getting to collaborate with her on a pack inspired by her record LEVELS was pretty special. There are some amazing guitar and sax sounds in here."

Dark Fantasy

"I spend more time on TikTok than I’d like to admit, but it’s also where I find new music and trends when they bloom. That’s how I came across dark fantasy, a genre of music and artwork inspired by 80s fantasy illustrations."

Ultra Soft Piano

"I wanted to create a sequel of sorts to our most popular free pack, Soft Piano, using everything we’ve learned about sampling pianos in the ten years since. I started by putting T-shirts between the hammers and strings, followed by a memorable trip to a fabric shop. This is my go to piano now."
