Yeah, I think we should meet around six. The whole crew is heading over to Aaron's place afterward because his patio setup is actually finished now. He spent all Saturday leveling those pavers and someone finally convinced him to buy the proper sand, not just whatever was left in the garage. So we will grill there probably. Bring that broccoli salad you made last time, the one with the dried cranberries and the toasted almonds. My sister kept asking about it for weeks and I never had the recipe memorized. She thinks there was some kind of rice vinegar in the dressing, but I told her I would just ask you directly when we got together. Also, did you ever figure out if the community garden plots are already claimed for the season, because Anthony mentioned wanting a few rows for peppers and maybe some herbs. He gets very particular about basil variety which I find hilarious. Anyway, we can head over together if you want to leave at quarter to six. I will have the chairs loaded already. Text me if you need a ride or if you are picking up ice on the way. Looking forward to it and hopefully the weather holds because the forecast kept shifting every time I checked. Bring a jacket just in case.

So when you said the reading list was optional, I sort of ignored it and started with the third chapter because that is where the actual story picks up. The first two chapters were mostly backstory and I already knew the general arc from the conversations we had last fall. But then I got confused about the uncle character, the one who runs the repair shop, because apparently he shows up earlier than I remembered and there is a whole scene with the radiator that I completely missed. Could you tell me if that matters later or if I can keep going without rereading the beginning? I would rather not backtrack unless it is important. Also, are we still doing the potluck on the second weekend of next month? I offered to bring a roasted vegetable platter and maybe that herbed rice dish if the kitchen is available in the morning. Let me know what still needs signing up for so I can add my name to the sheet before Thursday. I can also bring folding chairs if the host needs extra seating for the patio area. The weather should be decent by then, but if not we can move everything inside. Just let me know when you have a chance.
